Rene Lans has been a wealth manager and financial adviser for almost 18 years. He believes in careful planning, complete trust and attention to detail – traits that have made him a trusted adviser to all his long-term clients. He relishes helping his clients succeed and seeing the huge difference he can make to the lives of them and their families.
Never one to miss the chance for a heated debate, everyone assumed he would grow up to be a lawyer. But a love for business prevailed, seeing him graduate with a B.Comm in Economics and an LL.B in Law from the North-West University in Potchefstroom. This unique combination of legal and business knowledge has stood him in good stead over the years.
Like many of his peers, he traveled to London for work experience in 1998 – getting his first taste of the finance world in the dealing room of HSBC – then returned to his homeland of South Africa where he took a role with the financial advisory – Dynarc. During this time, he obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning at the University of the Free State, and learned all about being a financial advisory. Here he was also privileged to head up an equity fund on behalf of his employer, leading to an invitation to expand Dynarc in the UK in 2002. With partner Thomas Richter, this small business quickly grew its UK client base, and in 2004 the duo got the opportunity to purchase the company.
Further growing their operations, Thomas and Rene sold 50% of Dynarc to the well-known South African wealth manager, PSG Konsult, in 2007. Using the name PSG Consult, Rene and Thomas worked as wealth managers until 2012, when they repurchased all shareholding from PSG to own their business outright, rebranding it as London Private Wealth. Whilst in London, Rene became a Certified Financial Planner – one of only a few people worldwide to hold this qualification in both the UK and SA. This is what makes Rene so pivotal in advising clients who have affairs or assets both in the UK and South Africa.
His boutique wealth management business did not happen overnight but he has proven that through hard work and determination it is possible to work one’s way to the top. When you’ve been giving investment advice for as long as he has, you’ve grown to know the markets in all their fickleness.
Rene lives in Thames Ditton with wife Maryke, daughters Gabriella and Emily. When he isn’t providing wealth management advice for his clients, he loves recreational flying and beating his friends at squash.

Leelah is the captain that keeps our business on track and everything running smoothly from day to day. Calm under pressure and extremely self-disciplined, she offers support to the wealth managers, runs the administration of the South African-based office and deals with any customer enquiries.
Born and bred in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Leelah achieved qualifications in marketing, banking and insurance – passing both with distinction. In her first role at Dynarc Investment & Insurance Brokers, she gained valuable experience in the intricacies of insurance, financial planning and pensions, and proceeded to train as a financial adviser, managing a small client base of her own. Here she also met her future colleague, René Lans.
Next Leelah worked at PSG Konsult, where she offered regional support to a group of financial advisers and continued to train as a financial consultant. During her time at PSG, she also dabbled in a bit of radio journalism by regularly reading the financial news on OFM (a regional radio station). She joined the London Private Wealth team in 2013.
She enjoys working with a vast array of clients, from all walks of life, believes strongly in teamwork and putting in what you expect to get back in return.
When she’s not running a tight ship at London Private Wealth, she enjoys the outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen and spending time with friends and family.

Born and bred a sun-loving South African, Neil obtained his degree in Town and Regional Planning from the North-West University in Potchefstroom. After university, he joined property development analysts Urban-Econ, and later Demacon Market Studies, working on major retail and property development projects in South Africa and abroad.
In 2008 Neil emigrated to the not-so-sunny England to continue his career as a town planner, doing consultancy work for various London authorities as well as private property developers.
Neil started his journey in the financial world when he joined mortgage brokerage Andrew Charles Consulting in 2013 and trained to become a mortgage advisor due to his love of property and, more particularly, the world of finance. Thereafter he moved to Trinity Financial for a short stint, which led him to his current role at London Private Wealth, and his permanent home.
Neil is passionate about helping his clients achieve their goals. Whether it’s to buy their dream home or to develop a BTL portfolio to secure their future, he takes a keen interest in and genuinely cares about the people he works with. His career ambitions are to become an independent financial advisor, which will allow him to advise his clients on their total portfolio of planning needs.
When he is not helping people buy their dream home Neil enjoys the smell of a freshly mown lawn, followed by a cold beer and as much meat as possible on the BBQ. He is also a property investor himself and undertakes personally many of the renovations and DIY projects in those properties.
